The dentist will take an impression of the patient’s oral cavity and send the details to the dental lab where the custom veneers will be created.
To place dental veneers, the dentist will scrape away a small part of the enamel. The thickness of the veneer to be applied will determine the amount of enamel to be removed. This means that the veneer placement is permanent and irreversible since the teeth will always need the protection of veneers or any other dental restoration. Some ultra-thin veneers do not require removing a portion of the enamel.
